A decade-long strategic collaboration with D-Orbit, a leader in space logistics and transportation services.
Transitioning from a former mechanical designer to a specialist in high-fidelity 3D visualization, I bridge the gap between complex aerospace engineering and world-class marketing assets.
I transform intricate satellite carrier models into high-impact renders used for global investor relations, online platforms, and large-scale print media.
The Challenge
Aerospace assemblies (such as the ION Satellite Carrier) are among the most complex 3D models in existence, containing thousands of components and heavy metadata. The challenge lies in "cleaning" and optimizing these engineering-grade models for visualization without losing the technical accuracy required by the aerospace sector, all while meeting the high aesthetic standards of a market leader.
The Strategy

Deep Integration: Leveraging my background as a former D-Orbit mechanical designer to understand the functional logic of the hardware I am visualizing.

Engineering-to-Visual Workflow: Developing a pipeline to migrate high-fidelity data from SolidWorks and Rhino 3D into the KeyShot software for photorealistic output.

Stakeholder Alignment: Working directly with engineering teams to ensure that every material, from specialized thermal blankets to anodized aluminum, matches flight specifications.
The Process

Stage 1 - Geometry Optimization: Preparing and simplifying massive CAD assemblies to ensure fluid manipulation within the rendering environment.

Stage 2 - Low-Quality Drafts (Approval): Creating rapid, low-res "grey-box" drafts to approve camera angles, lighting compositions, and scenery with the D-Orbit team.

Stage 3 - Technical Material Assignment: Applying physically accurate materials based on engineering specs (e.g., Kapton foils, solar cell textures, and CNC-machined finishes).

Stage 4 - High-Fidelity Mastering: Final rendering in 8K+ resolution for use in international exhibitions, press releases, and digital ecosystems.
